Privacy Policy
Triftly (“we”, “us”, “our”) is a travel planning and expense-splitting app. This policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and your choices. By using Triftly, you agree to this policy.
1. Who we are
Triftly is operated by WY Limited. Contact: yky32is@gmail.com · Support: https://triftly.app/support
2. Information we collect
Depending on how you use the app, we may process:
- Account information — when you sign in with Google or Apple: name, email, and provider account identifiers (and avatar if provided by the provider).
- Trip content you create — trip names, destinations, dates, flights, day plans, spots (including addresses and map coordinates you add), notes/memories, packing lists, expenses, splits, settlements, and receipts you attach.
- Collaboration data — buddies/members, share/join codes and invite links, roles (owner / editor / viewer), and in-app notifications related to trip activity.
- Device & notifications — push notification tokens (for example FCM) so we can send alerts such as when someone joins your trip, if you allow notifications.
- Location — only when you use map/place features or share a place into Triftly, and only while the app is in use as described in the system permission prompts. We do not continuously track your background location for advertising.
- Camera / photos — receipt images you choose to capture or pick for expenses. On-device text recognition may help fill expense fields; you confirm before saving.
- Technical diagnostics — limited app logs and crash-related data needed to keep the service reliable (not used for advertising profiles).
- Guest / offline use — if you use Triftly without signing in, trip data may stay on your device only and will not sync to our cloud until you sign in.
3. How we use information
- Provide trip planning, maps, spend tracking, packing lists, and collaboration.
- Sync your data across devices when you are signed in.
- Send transactional notifications you enable (for example buddy joined a trip).
- Secure the service, prevent abuse, and fix bugs.
- Respond to support requests you send us.
- Comply with law when required.
We do not sell your personal information.
4. Sharing
We share data only as needed to run Triftly:
- Trip buddies / invitees — people you invite or who join via your share link can see trip content according to their role.
-
Service providers that process data on our behalf, including:
- Supabase (authentication, database, file storage, realtime sync)
- Google (sign-in; Maps / Places APIs when you search or display maps)
- Apple (Sign in with Apple; App Store / push delivery infrastructure)
- Firebase Cloud Messaging (push notifications, where configured)
- Hosting for triftly.app (for example Vercel) for web share previews and legal pages
- Legal — if required by law, regulation, or valid legal process.
Public web share pages (for example triftly.app/s/…) show a read-only trip preview
to people with the link. Only share links with people you trust.
5. Data storage & retention
- Signed-in trip data is stored with our cloud providers so you can sync and collaborate.
- Offline/local caches may remain on your device until you clear them or uninstall.
- We retain account and trip data while your account is active, or until you delete it / ask us to delete it, unless we must keep something longer for legal reasons.
6. Security
We use industry-standard measures appropriate to our service (encryption in transit, access controls, and vendor security features). No method of transmission or storage is 100% secure.
7. Your choices & rights
- Sign out or stop using the app at any time.
- Adjust OS permissions for location, camera, photos, and notifications.
- Export trip data from the app where that feature is available (Profile → Export trips).
- Request access, correction, or deletion of your personal data by emailing us.
- If you use Sign in with Apple or Google, you can also manage access in that provider’s account settings.
Depending on where you live (for example EU/UK or California), you may have additional rights under applicable privacy laws. Contact us to exercise them.
8. Children
Triftly is not directed to children under 13 (or the minimum age required in your country). We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child provided us data, contact us and we will delete it.
9. International transfers
Our providers may process data in countries outside where you live. Where required, we rely on appropriate safeguards offered by those providers.
10. Changes
We may update this policy from time to time. We will post the new version at https://triftly.app/privacy and update the “Last updated” date. Continued use after changes means you accept the updated policy.
